Grade & Table Specifications

The table below shows our two silica grades, both supplied as powder with 98.5% SiO₂ purity. Use the mesh size and particle size (% passing the stated micron cut) to match the texture and coarseness your formulation requires — 325 Mesh (45µ) gives a finer texture than 150 Mesh (100µ). Both grades are suited to textured paints.

Grade Type SiO₂ (%) Particle size Applications Stocked In
325 Mesh (45μ) powder 98.5 93%<45μ Textured Paints JHB
150 Mesh (100μ) powder 98.5 93%<106μ Textured Paints JHB
technical highlights

Key Performance Benefits

High purity (98.5% SiO₂)

Minimal impurities support consistent colour and performance across batches.

Hardness and abrasion resistance

Silica's natural hardness (Mohs 7) contributes durability and texture retention in coatings that see wear.

Graded particle size for texture control

The 45µ and 106µ mesh options let formulators dial in surface texture and roughness precisely for textured paint applications.

Chemical inertness

Stable and unreactive with binders and resins, supporting long-term formulation stability.
